Gourry Gabriev

    A master swordsman but dumb as a post, Gourry is Lina's "sidekick" on her journies, and he cares a great deal for her. Most of the time Gourry hasn't a clue as to what is going on, and the few times he does understand, it usually had taken him a few minutes to catch on. Every once in a while he has a good idea, but they are few and far between. What he lacks in intelligence, however, he makes up for with his skill in swordsmanship. Wielding the legendary Sword of Light, Gourry is nearly unmatched in his skill with the blade.

Zelgadis Greywords

Original voice: Hikaru Midorikawa


    Zelgadis acts as the character foil for the others. He's usually serious and prefers not to fool around, though even he has his moments. He used to be human, but Rezo the Red Priest turned him into a Chimera (Part human, part golem, and part demon) in a twisted method to grant the power that Zelgadis desired. Because of this his skin is like rock and his strength and magic are increased. Zelgadis is a skilled swordsman and Shamanist magic user and helps Lina on her quests hoping one day he will find a way to change back into a human. He is fond of Amelia, but more as a protector than romantically, unlike the way Amelia thinks of him.

Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun

Original voice: Masami Suzuki


    The young princess of Seyruun, Amelia believes strongly in justice and fairness - continually making long-winded speeches to villains about being punished for their misdeeds. She looks up to Lina as a hero of justice, which bothers Lina a great deal, as does the fact that Amelia's breasts are bigger than hers - despite being younger (by only a year or so). Amelia is a cleric and specializes in White magic, but also has considerable knowledge of Shamanist magic, and even some of Black magic. In fact, Amelia probably knows more spells than any other character, though not as experienced with each specific area as the others. Amelia has a crush on Zelgadis, is young and enthusiastic, and makes a great addition to the team.

Xelloss

Original voice: Akira Ishida


    Although Xelloss travels with Lina and the others, he does it mainly out of convenience for himself, as he usually has his own agenda. He is arrogant and very powerful, though he hides the full extent of his powers from everyone. Xelloss is a member of the Monster race, although unlike most monsters, he is not evil - though it cannot really be said he is good, either. He generally looks out for his own interests, though he does help Lina on occasion, when it suits him. He enjoys teasing Filia because she is a Gold Dragon, the bitter enemy of the Monsters, and because he knows she doesn’t like him very much.

Naga the Serpent

Original voice: Maria Kawamura


    Naga is the big-breastd, scantily-clad partner and bitter rival of Lina in the OAVs and movies. She is even more well-known, however, for her psychotic (and often annoying) laugh. Although she and Lina are travelling companions and occasionally work together, for the most part they just bicker and fight. This usually ends up making the trouble they seem to run into constantly even worse. Naga is knowledgeable of Black and Shamanist Magic, though most of her magic is focused around a special brand involving the summoning of creatures (particularly golems). Her arrogance and desire for treasure rival that of Lina, though overall Naga seems to be a little less good-natured than her partner.
